Here is another Phoibos watch. This one is really pushing the envelope of design and that is what I do Like about this microbrand. They are not afraid of trying something new and bold.
This one is a big watch at 43mm diameter but as its got hidden lugs it does not wear as big as you might think. It is well made and of good construction. Case machining is especially nice and very different!
I love how the dial is layered as it does give it some depth and interest. This watch is a compressor dive style watch meaning the rotating bezel is enclosed in the case and operated to rotate by the top crown on the side. The lower crown is to set the time and to wind the movement. Crowns are large and both are different and in my opinion they should be swapped around as the top one has more grip and that is needed more on the crown that is used most, the winding crown.
This watch is being powered by a very nice Sellita SW200-1 movement which is a Swiss movement based on an ETA2824.
What is a really good feature to this watch and something I have not seen on a microbrand. It has anti-magnetism by way of a cage under the caseback, possibly of soft iron. This attracts magnetism and shields the movement. As any watch enthusiast will know magnetism is really not healthy for a watch!
