Here is another Seiko digital and like the UC-3000 post this one has been a very long project.
The watch came in a box of loads of broken digital watches I picked up possibly 2018/19 when I was actively collecting and repairing digital watches. The G757 model is highly collectible and one model was worn in a Bond movie which then gave it iconic status.

The watch was a non runner and I made a complete video of the strip down and attempted repair on the module but it could not be fixed as battery leak damaged the main ICU on the board. Consequently the video was then never put out on my YouTube channel as I figured no one would want to sit though 45 minutes of a repair to find out it could not be repaired!
So like so many of my watches they find there way to the “to do ” draw and languish in there until I take an interest in fixing them again.
This one sat in there for years! I did look for damaged donors but could never find one for the price I was willing to pay.
In May 2022 I was contacted by a friend Adam Harris. Adam owns and runs the Digital Watch Library Possibly the worlds biggest online resource for Digital watch information and history / reference ( Also a Facebook group of the same name)
I had done some work for Adam a year previously and now he was after another favour to collect some watch parts from someone in my City for him which I obliged. I mentioned to him about a few donor modules I had been looking for for years and the G757 was something he thought he could fix or swap the board as a return favour.

The rest is history! within only a few days I had finally a working G757. These things are really cool. they have so many features like stopwatch and alarm but the highlight is that screen as it has running seconds show moving around the top left circle. Equally with a press of a button you have have dual time and this is then shown as a digital hour, minute and second hand! Again for the 80s this was just classic. I remember watches like this at school although I never had any Seiko just one or two Casio from memory.
I did not have a bracelet for this watch but rummaged around in all my parts and found a very dead Seiko A159-5019 (5019 are the top of the line models offering better case and bracelets) The bracelet on this fitted the G757 really well and the back coated edges to the links match well the screen decal.
I have worn this watch allot since having it back. Its so nice and also thin and light enough to wear comfortably. A great addition to my collection.

This watch also features on my Vintage Digital Watch Collection video from April 2024
