This is a fantastic watch from a great brand. Sadly it is not mine! I have had it here for a couple of years waiting for its time on the bench for a repair. I have a watch dealer friend in Belgium that I asked a few years ago if he had any broken watches he could send me and I would fix for my YouTube channel to get some better brands on show.
He sent me a box full that I have been (very slowly) working my way through.

I have never worked on a Zenith, in part because they are a bit out of my price range currently so it was nice to open this one up and peer into the movement. An ETA 2832 True high beat 36,000 BPH. I believe this movement in this reference was exclusive to Zenith as there is very little reference to it online, only to other Zenith watches. The 28## series has been used far and wide and in many different guises.

I also found something in this case that I come across every now and then which is an old gasket that instead of going hard goes all soft an gooey and sticks to everything! This stuff is horrible and takes some cleaning with 99% IPA alcohol to clear.

On this watch I stripped the movement down and gave it a full service all on camera as I like to now film any new movement so my viewers get to see all of my mistakes and mishaps as I dive into something new.

Here is a link to that video, can A Zenith Defy, defy me??? ?
To end, here is a few shot of the finished watch with that crazy dial styling typical of the 1970s.
