This is a recent pickup from the Birmingham watch Fair in the UK back in March 24. I bought it from a stall holder that I know quite well.

I paid £100 and though it was not a bad price for one of these and I had never seen such a vintage one and not on a black dial either.
After doing some research I could find this case and movement but still nothing on this dial and index pattern. Posting on my Facebook group and a few others the realization was this watch has possibly been re-dialled. There are many fakes of these but the more desirable modern looking ones, plus this one seemingly has the correct movement.

The gold paint on the dial on close inspection seems to be hand painted. Clearly its either a total non genuine dial or it has been re-finished. To print back on the date scale leads me to believe this has been done to a very good standard and possibly some time ago.

Regardless of these concerns I still really like this watch and its history and I am glad to add it to my personal collection.

That said if anyone out there reading this has any information on this dial I would be interested to hear from you so please email me on michael@myretrowatches.com
I will end the blog with the rest of the photos of this rather splendid little Oris Pointer which now looks better on the black leather strap than on the red on supplied.
