Well here is my oldest watch to date. Bought this one to bring to the channel for a video on repairing this Langendorf 1022 movement from circa 1940. Makes this watch some 80 years old!

What I liked is the patina on the dial, really shows its age well and of course those lugs! they are so different to anything I have owned.
Watch was sold as running but with problems so a perfect project for me to take on.
Watch here to see the full stripdown and service of this vintage timepiece.
In addition to the video I don’t think I mentioned oiling the balance shock jewels. The mainplate dial side is a simple affair just removing the screwed on cap jewel, cleaning and refitting, then oiling with my auto oiler when fitted.
The balance jewel is more complicated. I had to remove the hairspring and balance wheel from the balance cock so I can get at the two screws underneath. Once removed the cap falls off from the top side and I can clean, fit and oil. Again with my 1A Bergeon auto oiler.

Here are all the parts laid out for assembly.

I have tried to be a bit more artistic for once in my parts layout 🙂
I enjoyed working on this one and despite its small size of 33mm I think it looks great on the wrist. I fitted a new leather strap with a lug width of 17mm which is an unusual size I think.
