As the title suggests this watch is around 100 years old and made by Omega.

This watch was actually gifted to me by a man called Bill Csatary. Bill is a gentleman from USA, he is in his 80s now and this was actually his fathers watch. They originate from Hungary and this watch was on Bill’s fathers wrist when they crossed the boarder into Austria during the end of the second world war.

There is an amazing back story to this watch of which I documented in a video on my YouTube Channel. This watch arrived as a non runner and I first thought was that it would just need a service to get it going again as the movement looked very dirty indeed.

The movement is a beautiful looking thing despite all the old oil and debris.
Further digging and a stripdown of the movement I found a broken jewel and some hairspring issues where the hairspring is too short.

There is far too much that happened in the repair of this watch so I would at this point strongly suggest you click the link below and enjoy my video on this watch repair and its story behind it.
Here are some more movement shots.

I later also found issues with the balance timing screws which took me into a whole other direction of learning a new skill in how to play with them to get the watch back into regulation. At one stage I managed to break a screw also and these things are tiny! I have some photos of just how small they are.

Here is the finished watch after getting the movement to keep good time. I gave the case a polish, its silver so wanted to brighten it up again. Dial needed a good clean and as its enamel this came up quite nice in the end.
