This watch was built by me from a kit supplied by Namoki Mods an online watch parts and modification company. They wanted me to produce a video to show off this new model they had and with my taste in all things quirky or retro I could not pass on this opportunity.
The kit was not all that challenging, I was able to pick the dial, hands and on this one a custom rotor, the movement is a Seiko NH series came all assembled. The only work for me to do was to fit the dial and hands, trim the stem to length, install the chapter ring and carefully press in the crystal.

What I liked about this was its TV shaped case and “futuristic” looking bracelet. I do like my square watches so to see a recreation was wonderful as its not something all brands do probably because it is not all the popular.
Namoki Mods have so many dial and handsets for the NH series you really are spoilt for choice but I wanted to try to recreate a 70s vibe so chose this fume dial and baton handset. Keep it simple but effective.
These are photos of it on my wrist. It does not dominate and fits very comfortably. I am left handed so wear my watch on my right arm which can trigger some people but hey.. I am so left handed that if I try to put this on my left arm I cant even hold the camera properly to take good photos!
Namoki do a few alternative rotors, this type I have not seen before. It covers the whole movement but it is weighted more on one side so it will spin. The cost for the rotor is quite high for what it is but equally it has to be produced and as its not standard the machining costs would be higher.
Overall the watch in my opinion is a good looking one, bracelet is surprisingly comfortable. I thought it might pull my hear but it does not. This watch is now in my rotation cycle and it gets worn currently around once a month which for me is good going!
Namoki seem to be a good company and very well known in the mod community. It is a one stop shop from total build kits like this one to just modding a watch to your own taste.
