Look at this interesting piece sent to me by my good friend and fellow watch tinkerer Mr Bob Duckworth over in America. This style of watch is his bag and he works tirelessly on them much to my admiration and amusement. These old watches sure give him plenty of problems.
I Serviced a nice Seiko chronograph for him and this was sent with it which I accepted for the work.
I have nothing like this in my collection at all. Its a really fancy case and gold from what I can tell, or at least thick gold plated. In my view so American too as this one dates from 1957. I am sure it can some stories in its 65 year old life!
Its a small watch but then they all were at that time. Here is a wrist shot but bare in mind the new not broken in leather strap. Makes it look like my arm is being strangled!
Then there is that crystal. Wow what a dome! just thankful its acrylic as you would never find a replacement I am sure.
To finish someone in my Facebook group sent me a picture of an original advert of this very watch. How cool is that.
